Jeff’s financial career began after he graduated from the University of Alaska Anchorage with a bachelor’s degree in accounting in 1993. He accepted a position with Deloitte, where he learned the importance of conservative and comprehensive advice. He later left to become the controller and then chief financial officer for a privately held Alaskan company before launching his own independent financial practice in 1999.

As a founding member of Leonard & Martens, LLC and registered principal of Raymond James Financial Services, Jeff envisioned owning an independent practice that would enable him to continue providing quality client service and applying the strong work ethic he honed over his years as a CPA.

His vision was supported by affiliating with Raymond James, one of the largest independent financial services firms in America. The company’s culture embraces values such as putting clients first and giving advisors the complete freedom to make objective recommendations solely on the best interest of their clients.

Active in community organizations, Jeff serves on the board of directors of the Alaska Pacific University Foundation and is chairman and a trustee of the Anchorage Symphony Orchestra’s Endowment Foundation. He is also a member of the Alaska Society of CPAs.

Jeff is a lifelong Alaskan, where he lives today with his wife. In his free time, Jeff enjoys traveling and playing golf.

This ranking is based upon the period from 6/30/2022 to 6/30/2023 and was released on 4/3/2024. Those advisors that are considered have a minimum of seven years of experience, and the algorithm weights factors like revenue trends, assets under management, compliance records, industry experience and those that encompass best practices in their practices and approach to working with clients.
